Le temps qu’il faut à l’objectif complètement ouvert de Franck Bohbot pour enregistrer la faible lumière à l’intérieur de chaque arcade. Le temps, les sujets des photos passant devant chaque machine. Et l’idée du temps lui-même, apparemment immobile à l’intérieur de ces arcades.
Back to the Arcade is a masterful series that captures time. The time it takes for Bohbot’s fully opened lens to record the scant light inside each arcade. The time, the subjects of the photos spend in front of each machine. And the idea of time itself, seemingly standing still inside these arcades.

Il s’inspire de ces langages visuels pour explorer le paysage unique du Royaume-Uni, souvent avec des juxtapositions pleines d’esprit qui rappellent les premiers travaux de Martin Parr. Le sens immaculé de la composition d’Ian oriente notre attention vers les détails perdus du quotidien ou banal.
Ian Howorth’s work takes inspiration from the American pioneers of colour photography Stephen Shore and William Eggleston, as well as European artists such as Luigi Ghirri. He draws upon these visual languages as he explores the UK’s unique landscape, often with witty juxtapositions reminiscent of Martin Parr’s early work. Ian’s immaculate sense of composition steers our attention to the lost details of the everyday or banal.
