Le livre présente 54 photos en noir et blanc prises au cours des trois dernières années, la plupart d’entre elles prises avec un appareil photo 8/10 pouces. Les photos du livre représentent des observations quotidiennes, des photos d’objets trouvés et des objets fabriqués par moi ou ma fille Laurie. Le titre Zillion (un nombre infiniment grand) fait référence au monde imaginaire que nous avons créé dans ce livre.
The book features 54 black and white photos made over the past three years, most of them shot with 8/10 inch camera. Photos in the book depict daily observations, stills of found items, and objects made by me or my daughter Laurie. The title Zillion (an infinitely large number) refers to the imaginary world we have created in this book.

Adrianna Ault a été élevée à la Nouvelle-Orléans où un système de digue de 565 km contrôle et retient les eaux de crue. Ce projet a commencé alors qu’Adrianna Ault tentait de mieux comprendre le paysage entourant la ville, mais a évolué au cours des 5 années pour englober sa famille changeante, les voyages qu’ils ont pris et le traitement du deuil. La digue est devenue une métaphore des barrières érigées pour tenter de conjurer le déclin inévitable et l’assaut du temps et de la nature.
Adrianna Ault was raised in New Orleans where a 350 mile levee system controls and holds back flood waters. This project began as Adrianna Ault attempted to better understand the landscape surrounding the city, but evolved over the course of 5-years to encompass her changing family, journeys they took and the processing of grief. The levee became a metaphor for the barriers built in an attempt to ward off inevitable decline, and the onslaught of time and nature.
