Le langage photographique hautement symbolique de « Italia O Italia » de Federico Clavarino tisse un récit intrigant. C’est l’histoire d’une nation complexe dont les ruines antiques jettent des ombres sur les éclats d’un présent brisé. Les images du livre ont été numérisées à partir des copies chromogéniques originales, puis imprimées dans la chambre noire par le photographe lui-même.

Né à Turin en 1984, Federico Clavarino a étudié les techniques de narration à la Scuola Holden d’Alessandro Baricco. En 2007, il s’installe à Madrid, où il vit et travaille actuellement comme professeur de photographie à la BlankPaper Escuela.

The highly symbolic photographic language of Federico Clavarino’s’Italia O Italia’ weaves an intriguing narrative. It is the story of a complex nation whose ancient ruins cast shadows on the shards of a shattered present. The book’s images were scanned from the original chromogenic prints and then printed in the darkroom by the photographer himself.
Born in Turin in 1984, Federico Clavarino studied narration techniques at Alessandro Baricco’s Scuola Holden. In 2007 he moved to Madrid, where he currently lives and works as a teacher of photography at BlankPaper Escuela.
