Plus de 150 photographies en couleur réalisées entre 2016 et 2025 se concentrent sur les petites villes lors de ce voyage prolongé de Key West en Floride à Fort Kent dans le Maine.
Two photographers, Anna Fox and Karen Knorr set out in 2016 on a journey of friendship, adventure and collaboration stopping at motels, drugstores, cafes and Airbnb’s. Stopping, walking, getting out to meet people and explore a fractured US society in the age of Trump. Over 150 colour photographs made between 2016 and 2025 focus on small towns on this extended road trip from Key West in Florida to Fort Kent in Maine.

Pour réaliser les photographies de sa première monographie, A Poor Sort of Memory, Tracy L. Chandler est retournée dans sa ville natale du désert californien – et non sans ambivalence. « En revisitant les vieilles cachettes dans des lavabos de béton et les lits privés dans des formations rocheuses, je me suis souvenue d’un passé chargé de traumatismes et de mon désespoir pour retrouver à la fois un sentiment d’appartenance et un moi indépendant », dit-elle.
Les explorations de sa jeunesse avaient été un moyen d’échapper au chaos morbide de son foyer familial et de trouver refuge dans les périphéries.
To make the photographs in her debut monograph, A Poor Sort of Memory, Tracy L Chandler went back to her hometown in the California desert – and not without ambivalence. “As I revisited old hideouts in concrete washes and private bunks in rock formations, I was reminded of a past laden with trauma and my desperation to find both a sense of belonging and an independent self,” she says.
The explorations of her youth had been a means to escape the morbid chaos of her family home and find refuge in the peripheries.

Pendant deux ans, Herman Ellis Dyal a photographié l’intérieur de l’église de San Antonio, au Texas, qui était le centre de la vie de sa famille depuis les années 1940. Les photographies qui en résultent montrent une grande partie du bâtiment maintenant inutilisé et forment sa première monographie, Les choses non vues sont éternelles.
Over a period of two years, Herman Ellis Dyal photographed the interior of the church in San Antonio, Texas which had been the centre of his family’s life since the 1940s. The resulting photographs show much of the building now unused and form his first monograph, The Things Not Seen Are Eternal.
