Né à Osaka, au Japon, Kenro Izu a déménagé à New York à l’âge de 21 ans, ouvrant le studio Kenro Izu en 1974. Pendant cinquante ans, Kenro Izu a photographié des espaces sacrés à travers le monde et a examiné la « sacralité intérieure » chez ses sujets.
Born in Osaka, Japan, Kenro Izu moved to New York at the age of 21, opening Kenro Izu Studio in 1974. For fifty years, Kenro Izu has photographed sacred spaces around the world and has examined the “inner sacredness” within his subjects.

The Japanese photographer Kenro Izu is famous for the refinement and sophistication of his images, perceptible in the subjects he has privileged during his career of more than 50 years: still life, the nude and especially sacred places of the world.
Il fotografo giapponese Kenro Izu è celebre per la ricercatezza e la raffinatezza delle sue immagini, percepibili nei soggetti da lui privilegiati in oltre 50 anni di carriera: still life, nudo e, soprattutto, i luoghi sacri del mondo.

Kenro Izu : Fuzhou ; The Forgotten Land
Limitée à seulement 1 000 exemplaires, cette remarquable monographie comprend soixante et onze photographies de Kenro Izu, de beaux imprimés sur papier d’art mat et reliés en lin vert foncé. Le livre et le texte qui l’accompagne, avec des essais en chinois, en japonais et en anglais de l’artiste et de M. Madong Ma, sont insérés dans un coffret en bois et en planche personnalisé.
Limited to only 1,000 copies, this remarkable monograph comprises seventy one photographs by Kenro Izu, beautiful printed on matte art paper and bound in dark green linen. The book and accompanying text inset, with essays in Chinese, Japanese and English by the artist and Mr. Madong Ma, are housed in a custom wooden and board slipcase.
