Photographe autodidacte, parcourant à pied la Cordillère et produisant des images à partir de négatifs sur plaques de verre, il a documenté les peuples tribaux de Luzon, de la même manière qu’Edward Curtis a documenté les Amérindiens.
This book received a National Book Award in the Philippines.
Since its publication, Eduardo Masferre has been recognized as the father of Philippine photography. A self-taught photographer, who trekked on foot throughout the Cordillera producing images from glass-plate negatives, documented the tribal people of Luzon, in the same way that Edward Curtis documented the American Indian.
