Jacques Henri Lartigue : L’invenzione della felicita / The Invention fo Happiness
Le succès et la reconnaissance de l’œuvre de Lartigue (Courbevoie, 13 juin 1894 – Nice, 12 septembre 1986) sont arrivés très tard, alors que l’artiste avait presque 70 ans. C’était en 1963, et le Museum of Modern Art de New York accueillait une exposition avec les images que le photographe avait prises au début de sa carrière, dans les premières années du XXe siècle, devant lesquelles on ne pouvait manquer de reconnaître la proximité évidente avec l’œuvre du grand Henri Cartier-Bresson.
The success and recognition of Lartigue’s work (Courbevoie, June 13, 1894 – Nice, September 12, 1986) came very late, when the artist was almost 70 years old. It was in 1963, and the Museum of Modern Art in New York hosted an exhibition with the images that the photographer had taken at the beginning of his career, in the early years of the 20th century, before us we could not fail to recognize the proximity evident with the work of the great Henri Cartier-Bresson.
