This latest edition—with a revised sequence, and printed from scans of the original 35mm Kodachromes—is the truest expression of her insight into this raw world, made accessible by the intensity of her involvement and compassion.

Chris Killip : Isle of Man Revisited
Le photographe britannique Chris Killip est né au pub de son père sur l’île de Man en 1946 ; 18 ans plus tard, il a quitté son poste de directeur d’hôtel stagiaire pour poursuivre la photographie à temps plein, photographiant les plages de l’île. Il s’installe à Londres peu après, mais décide de retourner sur l’île de Man au début des années 1970 pour documenter ses habitants, ses paysages et ses modes de vie traditionnels en voie de disparition. La série a été publiée pour la première fois en 1980.
British photographer Chris Killip was born at his father’s pub on the Isle of Man in 1946; 18 years later he left his post as a trainee hotel manager to pursue photography full time, photographing the island’s beaches. He moved to London shortly thereafter, but decided to return to the Isle of Man early in the 1970s to document its inhabitants, landscapes and disappearing traditional lifestyles. The series was first published in 1980.
