En 1950, Robert Frank, figure incontournable de l’histoire de la photographie, est né à Zurich en 1924 et a immigré aux États-Unis en 1947. Il est surtout connu pour son livre fondateur The Americans, publié pour la première fois en 1959, qui a donné lieu à une nouvelle forme distincte dans le livre photo, et son film expérimental Pull My Daisy (1959).
In 1950, Robert Frank, a key figure in photographic history, was born in Zurich in 1924 and immigrated to the United States in 1947. He is best known for his seminal book The Americans, first published in 1959, which gave rise to a distinct new form in the photobook, and his experimental film Pull My Daisy (1959).
