Webb Todd

Après plusieurs années à photographier New York en socialisant avec Alfred Stieglitz, Georgia O’Keeffe, Berenice Abbott et Minor White, le photographe américain Todd Webb a déménagé à Paris à la fin des années 40 et a réalisé ses premiers clichés avec un appareil photo 8×10. Il s’est rapidement retrouvé à vivre les moments clés de sa vie en se mêlant à d’autres artistes tels que Gordon Parks, Man Ray et Brassaï. Dans son journal, Todd Webb s’inquiétait souvent de l’argent et de savoir s’il pouvait réussir à Paris, mais il a persévéré.

After several years photographing New York City―socializing with Alfred Stieglitz, Georgia O’Keeffe, Berenice Abbott and Minor White―American photographer Todd Webb moved to Paris in the late ’40s and made his first negatives with an 8×10 camera. He quickly found himself having the time of his life―mingling with other artists such as Gordon Parks, Man Ray and Brassaï. In his journal, Todd Webb often worried about money and whether he could make it in Paris, but he persevered.
