Lee Friedlander : Cherry Blossom Time in Japan ; The Complete Works
I first went to Japan in 1977 and found the whole country ablaze with blossom. I went again in 1979, 1981 and 1984, always at cherry-blossom time. As far as I knew, Japan was always abloom.—Lee Friedlander

Nicholas Nixon : Live Love Look Last
Livre Épuisé / Out of Print Book.
Exemplaire Neuf / Copy New.
Live Love Look Last brings together photographs from the past decade of Nicholas Nixon’s artistic career. Each of the subjects presented—Nixon’s family, couples, Boston cityscapes, and critically ill patients—originated as a project in its own right. In retrospect, however, Nixon realized the four independent series collectively articulated his ten-year photographic journey to honor and give form to the people and places that powerfully move him. -

Rachidi Bissiriou : Gloire Immortelle
In 1968, the West African photographer Rachidi Bissiriou set up his photographic studio, Studio Plaisir, in his hometown of Kétou in Benin, which he operated until its closure in 2004. The timing of this was conspicuous – Rachidi Bissiriou was only 18 and Benin had only declared its independence from French rule eight years earlier, in 1960. Armed with a Yashica twin-lens camera, Bissiriou documented these heady times, spending the next three decades shooting black and white photographs of the locals in a standard 6x6cm format.
