Yana Kononova a commencé à travailler sur la série Radiations of War en mars 2022. Depuis lors, elle vit et travaille dans des zones précédemment occupées par les troupes russes, des zones touchées par les combats actifs ou des endroits qui ont souffert de la terreur des attaques à la roquette. Kononova documente les crimes de guerre à l’aide d’une caméra moyen format. Elle documente les infrastructures civiles détruites, les efforts des services d’urgence ukrainiens et les corps de soldats et de civils tombés.

Yana Kononova began working on the Radiations of War series in March 2022. Since then, she has been living and working in areas previously occupied by Russian troops, areas affected by active fighting, or locations that have suffered the terror of rocket attacks. Using a medium-format camera, Kononova documents war crimes. She documents the destroyed civilian infrastructure, the efforts of Ukrainian emergency services, and the bodies of fallen soldiers and civilians.
