Adam Ianniello : Angels Point
Angels Point est une falaise du parc Elysian, le plus ancien de Los Angeles. En 2017, Adam Ianniello a commencé à photographier ce désert surplombant l’étalement de béton de la ville avec son appareil photo grand format. Les photographies en noir et blanc qui en résultent, prises sur une période de trois ans, capturent le sublime le moins vu au milieu de l’une des plus grandes villes d’Amérique.
Angels Point is a cliff’s edge in Elysian Park, the oldest park in Los Angeles. In 2017, Adam Ianniello began photographing this wilderness overlooking the concrete sprawl of the city with his large-format camera. The resulting black and white photographs, taken over a period of three years, capture the lesser-seen sublime in the midst of one of America’s largest cities.

The images in Wahala depict both the places in the world where raw materials are extracted from the earth for profit, and the people who make their homes there. Photographer Robin Hinsch travelled to where the human impact on the planet was particularly visible to confront the viewer with the blunt ecological and human repercussions of the global reliance on fossil fuels.

La sélection d’images dans le livre a été prise entre 2013 et 2019 et dépeint la montée, le règne, la chute et les conséquences immédiates de l’État islamique en tant qu’entité territoriale.
‘We Don’t Say Goodbye is the result of 10-years of work by photographer Lorenzo Meloni in Iraq, Syria and Libya. The selection of images in the book were taken between 2013 and 2019 and depict the rise, reign, fall and immediate aftermath of the Islamic State as a territorial entity.

Rachidi Bissiriou : Gloire Immortelle
45,00€En 1968, le photographe ouest-africain Rachidi Bissiriou installe son studio photographique, Studio Plaisir, dans sa ville natale de Kétou au Bénin, qu’il exploite jusqu’à sa fermeture en 2004. Le moment était bien choisi : Rachidi Bissiriou n’avait que 18 ans et le Bénin n’avait déclaré son indépendance de la France que huit ans plus tôt, en 1960. Armé d’un double objectif Yashica, Bissiriou a documenté ces temps grisants, passant les trois décennies suivantes à prendre des photos en noir et blanc des habitants dans un format standard de 6x6cm.
In 1968, the West African photographer Rachidi Bissiriou set up his photographic studio, Studio Plaisir, in his hometown of Kétou in Benin, which he operated until its closure in 2004. The timing of this was conspicuous – Rachidi Bissiriou was only 18 and Benin had only declared its independence from French rule eight years earlier, in 1960. Armed with a Yashica twin-lens camera, Bissiriou documented these heady times, spending the next three decades shooting black and white photographs of the locals in a standard 6x6cm format.
