Depuis 1968, l’artiste a créé une vaste œuvre qui a sa place dans l’histoire de la photographie. Sa narration visuelle intemporelle se rapporte à la nature, à l’obscurité et à la solitude, au monde intérieur et à l’ésotérisme, tout en touchant des dimensions découvertes. Pendant plus de 15 ans, Fonteyne a été actif en tant que photographe de mode, dépassant les limites en introduisant son approche narrative en tant qu’artiste contemporain dans le monde de la mode traditionnelle. Il a collaboré avec Margiela, Dries Van Noten, Walter Van Beirendonck et Dirk Bikkembergs, et à l’international avec Vogue, Interview, Bazaar, Marie-Claire ou Brutus Magazine au Japon. En 1996, il décide de se concentrer sur sa pratique d’artiste contemporain.
Since 1968 the artist has created an extensive œuvre that has its place in the history of photography. His timeless visual storytelling relates to nature, darkness and loneliness, the inner world, and esotericism, while touching uncovered dimensions. For more than 15 years Fonteyne was active as a fashion photographer, breaking boundaries by introducing his narrative approach as contemporary artist in the traditional fashion world. He had early collaborations with Margiela, Dries Van Noten, Walter Van Beirendonck and Dirk Bikkembergs, and internationally he collaborated with Vogue, Interview, Bazaar, Marie-Claire or Brutus Magazine in Japan. In 1996 he decided to concentrate on his practice as contemporary artist.
