Pour cette première édition, Teresa nous présente la carthame des teinturiers (safflower) au Japon (province de Yamagata). Dans une démarche d’abord documentaire, la photographe s’intéresse depuis plusieurs années aux fleurs, aux métiers qui gravitent autour de ces plantes si délicates et aux personnes qui les élèvent. La publication présentée ici est elle composée comme un poème, de manière plus abstraite et muette, afin de traduire une ambiance et une atmosphère particulière ; préfaces par Inès Longevial (peintre), Carolin Ruggaber (artiste florale) et Danielle Demetriou (écrivaine), photos en n.b. et en couleurs.
I WONDER WHOSE SKIN THIS CRIMSON FLOWER WILL TOUCH is the first volume in a collection dedicated to flowers. For this first edition, Teresa presents the safflower in Japan (Yamagata province). Using a primarily documentary approach, the photographer has been interested in flowers, the professions that revolve around these delicate plants, and the people who raise them for several years. The publication presented here is composed like a poem, in a more abstract and mute manner, in order to convey a particular mood and atmosphere ; prefaces by Inès Longevial (painter), Carolin Ruggaber (floral artist) and Danielle Demetriou (writer).
