‘Blind Spot’ a été réalisé en six ans par l’artiste photographe et éducatrice Julie van der Vaart, qui traite des concepts du temps imaginaire, se demandant si notre perception du temps est réelle ou un concept construit dont nous ne semblons pas pouvoir nous libérer. Elle veut montrer les connexions et les corrélations possibles entre les différents éléments de la vie et remettre en question notre place dans l’ensemble des choses. L’artiste photographie la plupart de son travail en argentique noir et blanc, se concentrant sur la nature et le corps humain combinés avec des thèmes cosmiques.
‘Blind Spot’ was made over the course of six years by photographic artist and educator Julie van der Vaart, who deals with the concepts of imaginary time, questioning if our perception of time is real or a constructed concept that we cannot seem to break free from. She wants to show possible connections and correlations between different elements of life and question our place in the larger scheme of things. The artist shoots most of her work in black and white analogue film, focusing on nature and the human body combined with cosmic themes.

Johan van der Keuken’s work is generally considered part of the tradition of Dutch documentary photography and film, in which the humanistic view is central. His extremely sensitive view, the emphasis on the importance of concentrated watching and observation and visual thinking, make him a unique photographer-filmmaker in Dutch post-war history.

Lancé en février 2019, l’exposition se rendra ensuite dans d’autres lieux en Europe, à Shanghai et aux États-Unis.
The book is published to accompany the largest retrospective of Olaf’s work to date, a multiple-venue show that will encompass installations at the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam; Gemeentemuseum Den Haag; and Fotomuseum Den Haag.
Launching in February 2019, the show will subsequently travel to other venues in Europe, Shanghai, and the United States.
