Rosalind Fox Solomon a passé cinq mois en Israël et en Cisjordanie en 2010-2011, travaillant à Jérusalem, Tel Aviv, Nahariya, Bethléem et Jénine. En voyageant en bus local avec des travailleurs de banlieue, elle a photographié des adolescents juifs à Pourim, des chrétiens à l’église du Saint-Sépulcre et des pèlerins ghanéens au mont des Oliviers. Les photographies contiennent de nombreux récits entrelacés, certains avec une charge politique particulière, comme le cercueil de Juliano Mer-Khamis, un activiste palestinien de double descendance qui a fondé le Freedom Theatre, assassiné lors de la visite de Salomon sur le territoire.

Rosalind Fox Solomon spent five months in Israel and the West Bank during 2010–11, working in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Nahariya, Bethlehem and Jenin. Travelling by local bus along with commuter workers, she photographed Jewish teenagers at Purim, Christians at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, and Ghanaian pilgrims at the Mount of Olives. The photographs contain numerous interwoven narratives, some with particular political charge, such as the casket of Juliano Mer-Khamis, a Palestinian activist of dual descent who established the Freedom Theatre, assassinated during Solomon’s visit to the territory.
