“The greatest danger is becoming blind to what surrounds me. Here is what is obvious, what has always been. The same landscape and the same objects recur in the same rhythm of the seasons. Habit may obscure the nuances, the small significant details. The well known, the familiar, the ingrained, the seemingly depleted requires another kind of perception. I have to hold on to the sensibility that keeps me awake, I must maintain the receptiveness that makes me marvel and react. It is essential that I see, concretely, what is in front of my eyes.”
