La série Twilight de Gregory Crewdson, commencée en 1998 et achevée en 2002, se compose de quarante photographies créées comme des tableaux à grande échelle minutieusement mis en scène qui explorent le paysage domestique et sa relation à un monde naturel artificiellement intensifié. La collision entre le normal et le paranormal dans ces images narratives produit une tension qui sert à transformer la topologie du paysage suburbain en un lieu d’émerveillement et d’anxiété.
Twilight chronicles the art of photographer Gregory Crewdson’s gallery exhibitions of his fantastic, creative images.
Twilight is the magic hour when ordinary routines undergo strange transformations. Gregory Crewdson’s Twilight series, begun in 1998 and completed in 2002, consists of forty photographs created as elaborately staged large-scale tableaux that explore the domestic landscape and its relationship to an artificially heightened natural world. The collision between the normal and the paranormal in these narrative images produces a tension that serves to transform the topology of the suburban landscape into a place of wonder and anxiety.
