Walker Evans : Last Photographs & Life Stories
In this unconventional, lyrical biography, Michael Lesy traces Walker Evans’s intimate, idiosyncratic relationships with men and women—the circle of friends who made Walker Evans who he was. “Wonder and scrutiny produced the portraits Walker made in his prime,” Michael Lesy writes. Walker Evans’s photographs of Agee, Berenice Abbott, Lady Caroline Blackwood, and Ben Shahn, among others, accompany Lesy’s telling of Evans’s life stories.

Lee Friedlander : Cherry Blossom Time in Japan ; The Complete Works

Nicholas Nixon : Live Love Look Last
Livre Épuisé / Out of Print Book.
Exemplaire Neuf / Copy New.
Live Love Look Last brings together photographs from the past decade of Nicholas Nixon’s artistic career. Each of the subjects presented—Nixon’s family, couples, Boston cityscapes, and critically ill patients—originated as a project in its own right. In retrospect, however, Nixon realized the four independent series collectively articulated his ten-year photographic journey to honor and give form to the people and places that powerfully move him. -

Leonard Fink : Coming Out ; Photographs of Gay Liberation and the New York Waterfront
Amateur photographer Leonard Fink lived and worked in New York City, documenting over 25 years of its gay life, including pride parades, bars, and especially the decaying architecture of the West Side piers, which served as a space for gay men to interact socially and sexually. From the mid-1970s onwards, Fink captured this time of empowerment, cruising, sexual freedom, and openness and experimentation, and his large collection of photographs has proven to be a significant and engaging visual record of the citys gay subculture before the rise of HIV/AIDS would forever change it. This publication marks the first time Finks images have come together as a group.
