Tod Papageorge : At the Beach
En 1975, Tod Papageorge fait un voyage à travers l’Amérique qui se termine sur les plages de Los Angeles. Là, pris par la lumière aveuglante, il réalise quelques-unes de ses premières photographies moyen format (6 x 9 cm). En 1978, il retourne à Los Angeles pour développer ces premières images et, en 1981 et 1988, lors de visites plus courtes, il ajoute encore des clichés à ce corpus d’œuvres.
In 1975 Tod Papageorge made a cross-America trip that ended on the beaches of Los Angeles. There, taken by the blinding light, he produced some of his first medium-format (6 x 9 cm) photographs. In 1978 he returned to Los Angeles to expand on those first pictures and, in 1981 and 1988, on shorter visits, added yet again to this body of work.
