En octobre, alors que nous étions à Bristol pour l’événement BOP de la Fondation, Martin, Caroline et moi nous sommes réunis afin de sélectionner l’editing de cette nouvelle édition 2026 de Small World.
In October, when we were down in Bristol for the Foundation’s BOP event, Martin, Caroline and I got together to select the edit for this new 2026 edition of Small World.
C’était presque devenu une tradition : à chaque réimpression de l’ouvrage, nous changions la couverture et ajoutions un certain nombre de nouvelles photographies que Martin avait redécouvertes ou prises récemment. Au fil des années, Martin et moi avons réalisé six éditions différentes du livre — chacune subtilement distincte, et chacune dotée d’une nouvelle couverture. Pour cette édition, nous avons ajouté huit nouvelles images, dont cinq réalisées en 2025 et trois plus anciennes. De retour à Stockport dans les semaines suivantes, j’ai ajusté la séquence afin d’intégrer ces nouvelles images, je l’ai envoyée à Martin pour approbation, puis je l’ai transmise à EBS, nos imprimeurs en Italie.
It had become almost a tradition that with every reprint of the book we would change the cover and add in a number of new photos that Martin had rediscovered or taken recently. Over the years, Martin and I made six different editions of the book – each subtly different and each with a new cover. For this edition we added in eight new images, five taken in 2025 and three earlier images. Back in Stockport over the following weeks I adjusted the sequence to accommodate these new images, sent it over to Martin for his approval and then sent it off to EBS, our printers in Italy.
