Après la mort de sa grand-mère, l’artiste s’accroche à la nostalgie de ses amis passés et réalise ce livre qui rappelle dans sa forme un Kyohon (経本), un livre japonais de prières bouddhistes pour les morts ; photos en n.b.

Born 1967 in Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi. Graduated from Kyushu Sangyo University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Photography and Imaging Arts, and became Nobuyoshi Araki’s disciple in ’91. Following her first solo exhibition “Clock Without Hand” in ’93, she participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions mainly in Tokyo but also at locations across Asia and Europe and received high acclaim. After winning a New Figure Encouragement Prize at Photo City Sagamihara 2013, she is currently one of the most watched photographers.

After the death of her grandmother, the artist clutches to the nostalgia for her friends passed on and realises this book which recalls in its shape a Kyohon (経本), a japanese book of buddhist prayers for the deads.
